Do you need a speaker for your Cesar Chavez Day observance honoring the life and values of the legendary farm labor and civil rights leader?
Walking the Talk: Marking Historic Anniversaries in 2010
Begun in 2002, the Speakers Bureau program set up by the Cesar E. Chavez Foundation has become an increasingly effective and popular tool of public education on the legacy of Cesar Chavez. Since then, it has supplied schools, businesses, government entities, labor unions, community-based groups and other organizations with a personal link to Cesar the man and the leader, while lending contemporary meaning to his core beliefs and values.
This year's Cesar Chavez holiday season highlights the 45th anniversary of the start of the 1965 Delano Grape Strike and the 40th anniversary of the grape strikers' victory through success of the international table grape boycott, which convinced growers to sign their first-ever union contracts in 1970.Speaker Honorariums
