Elected to the Phoenix City Council in 2007, and now serving as the city's vice mayor, lifelong Phoenix resident Michael Nowakowski is also vice president of communications for Radio Campesina, a nine-station network of the most popular nonprofit educational-format Spanish-language radio stations across the Western United States. He oversees daily operations and is responsible for network expansion and success. Before, for nearly 10 years he was general manager of Phoenix 88.3 FM KNIA, the largest market in the country for Radio Campesina. Prior to that he was assistant director of the Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry for the Catholic Diocese of Phoenix. Michael has spent his life working to make a difference and build community.

The country's first woman programming director for a Spanish-language radio network, Maria Barquin is a native of Mexicali, Mexico who moved to Phoenix at age 14. She earned a B.A. degree in broadcasting business management from the Walter Cronkite School of Telecommunications at Arizona State University. A 12 year veteran of Radio Campesina, as network programming director Maria helped create a cutting-edge third option radio format, combining educational and musical components to attract and keep a large and loyal audience. Using Radio Campesina programming, she has helped execute innumerable large-scale charity, education, civic and lobbying drives as well as health fairs and coordinated activities with local schools and community groups.

A six-year veteran of Radio Campesina, Bill Barquin served as an account executive and sales manager for the network's highly successful KNIA Phoenix station for more than five years before becoming the radio network's chief operating officer in 2009. As network COO, he oversees management and staff coordination of programming, engineering, satellite, IT, administration and local stations. Born in Morenci, Arizona, he received a B.S. degree in psychology from Grand Canyon University. Prior to Radio Campesina, Bill was senior events coordinator for five years at the Arvizu Advertising agency. Bill's dedication to community involvement includes service in a host of city, business, charitable and school activities, from the board of managers of the Valley of the Sun YMCA to the Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce board of directors. He is a recipient of the Under 40 Hispanic Leaders in Arizona award.
